INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUNDAY MORNING TEAS & COFFEES AND BBQ
Around 9:30 At least one person needs to be at club
First job is to fill urn and turn to max (20+ mins to boil); in the meantime the kettle is available
10 – 11 Need 3 people at this stage; one to do Teas, coffees etc, others to start preparing for BBQ
Everything needed (i.e. tea/coffee/chocolate snacks/ buns/ sausages etc) will be either in the stock room off the kitchen (on side or in large silver fridge/freezer) or Tony/someone else will bring it down. Burgers may be frozen but cook well from frozen
Set out snacks (chocolate and crisps) and drinks (water, lucozade, fizzy) on kitchen worktop. Plus milk and sugar and free biscuits
Take rolls out of Freezer and let them thaw. 2 boxes of baps and a half box of hot dog Rolls. (That’s 96 and 24.) May need to use microwave if not defrosting quickly enough
10:15 Light oven. To light: use the gas lighter by oven. Turn oven gas to full and hold down orange button at bottom of oven inside door, and light with the lighter. Hold button for at least 30 secs after lit. Then turn oven down to approx halfway to cook sausages.
Chop up and cook onions on hob in a saucepan in some oil (takes a surprisingly long time).
10:45 (ish) Put sausages in oven
Once defrosted wrap the baps/rolls etc in napkins ready and put them in the empty boxes from where they came – makes serving much easier.
11:15 Put BBQ out front and connect up gas. Light
By 11:30 set up tables etc to sell from (protect children from BBQ with tables); all needs to be set up and cooking burgers by around 1130 for 1200 cricket finish (and a big rush – can keep warm in low oven if needed). N.B. Sausages don’t need to be barbecued as cook beautifully in the oven
There are one or two vegetarians – stock in freezer
A small table needs to be set up with ketchup, mustard and onions etc slightly away from BBQ area
Once start serving, BBQ needs at least 3 people - one cooking one serving and one taking money, the latter selling drinks sweets crisps etc. But runners also useful to top up cheese, buns, drinks etc and can also keep selling teas and snacks from kitchen so that those not wanting hot food don’t have to queue and wash up etc (Suggest 5)
Once all finished, washing up needs to be done for all the associated bits (including BBQ tops) and BBQ/Gas bottle put away in the stock cupboard
Please designate someone to look after cash box. Can deliver back to Tony Copeland later on Sunday, if necessary.
Any questions etc Tony’s mobile is 07814 697925
